Coming of the White Man, 1904

The sculpture depicts a Multnomah chief and a medicine man watching Lewis & Clark coming down the Columbia. The bronze artwork was covered with disfiguring streaks of light bluish green corrosion. The treatment preserved the artwork and transformed it into a well-cared for historic sculpture.
